Purdue vs. Gonzaga CBB Prediction:
A great early season matchup is in store from Honolulu on Monday afternoon, between a pair of national title contenders.
Give me the Zags here. Purdue has the best player in the country with Zach Edey, however, I think Gonzaga will be able to slow him down enough in this contest to at least make somebody else on Purdue beat them. Anton Watson will likely be the first body the Zags use to try and defend Edey. Watson was a WCC defensive player of the year finalist last year, if he stays out of foul trouble, he should be able to hold his own.
Furthermore, for the Zags they bring in two key transfers, Ryan Nembhard from Creighton and Graham Ike from Wyoming. Both are experienced players and legit scorers. While Purdue has the best player on the floor, I think the Zags have the better all-around team. Back the Zags as a dog.
