Purdue Game Notes
Purdue center Zach Edey is one of the best big men in the country. The 7’4” 295-pound junior is fourth in the country in scoring with 22.2 points per game and second in the nation in rebounding with 13 per game. If that wasn’t enough, Edey is also averaging 2.5 blocks per game and is shooting a scorching 62.8% from the field this season.
The Boilermakers’ second leading scorer is freshman guard Fletcher Loyer. The 6’4” Fort Wayne, Indiana native is putting up 12.2 points per contest while making 34.2% of his three-pointers on 5.6 attempts per game.
Maryland Game Notes
Maryland’s leading scorer is senior guard Jahmir Young. The 6’1” Charlotte transfer is averaging 16.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game for the Terps this season. Young has scored at least 13 points in 10 of his last 11 games and may need to do so again for Maryland to cover on Thursday.
Maryland’s leading rebounder is sophomore forward Julian Reese. The 6’9” Baltimore native is pulling down 6.4 boards per game while scoring 10.6 points per contest on 63.7% shooting from the field this season.

Purdue vs. Maryland CBB Prediction:
These two teams have already played each other this season. Purdue won the first game at home 58-55 on January 22nd. That game was a bit of an aberration as Maryland only shot 3 for 21 on three-pointers in that contest. What’s more, the Terps shot half as many free throws as Boilermakers in that game as well. Since that game, Maryland is 5-1 straight up. What really puts it over the top for me is Maryland’s record at home. The Terrapins are 13-1 at the XFINITY Center this season, and I think their home crowd helps propel them to a much-needed resume-building win over Purdue on Thursday.
