Purdue Boilermakers Game Notes

Boilermakers guard Braden Smith had a terrific game in his team’s 69-58 win over Washington on Wednesday night. The junior from Westfield, IN recorded 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals in 40 minutes of playing time. Smith shot 7 of 14 from the field and 2 of 2 from the foul line in the victory.

Purdue forward Trey Kaufman-Renn also played well on Wednesday. The 6’9” 230-pound junior logged 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, and a blocked shot. Kaufman-Renn leads the team in scoring with 17.6 points per game this year.

Oregon Ducks Game Notes

Ducks guard Jackson Shelstad was excellent in his team’s 82-81 win over Penn State on Sunday. The sophomore from West Linn, OR registered 17 points, 2 rebounds, and 8 assists across 37 minutes of game action. Shelstad shot 7 of 10 from the floor and 3 of 5 from beyond the arc in the win.

Oregon guard Keeshawn Barthelemy provided a spark off the bench in his team’s game on Sunday. The 6’1” senior accumulated 15 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 3 made three-pointers in 32 minutes. Barthelemy is third on the team in scoring with 10.1 points per game on the campaign.

Purdue is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

The Boilermakers are 25-20-2 ATS after a win since the start of last season.

Oregon is 10-14 ATS as a home favorite since the start of last season.

Oregon is 3-5 ATS in their last 8 games overall.

Purdue vs. Oregon CBB Prediction:

The Boilermakers have been scorching hot since the calendar flipped to 2025. Since January 2, in five Big Ten contests, Purdue is 5-0 straight up and 5-0 against the spread. The Boilermakers have won each of those games by at least 11 points. Purdue last played at Washington on Wednesday, January 15th. The Boilers won that game 69-58.

Oregon last played on Sunday against Penn State, winning that contest at home 82-81. That means that Purdue will have less time to rest up than Oregon. But the numbers show that this might not be a problem for the Boilermakers. Since the start of the 2023 season, Purdue is 10-5 ATS when playing with the rest disadvantage. For that reason, among others, I’m taking Purdue and the points on the road on Saturday afternoon.

Purdue vs. Oregon CBB Prediction: PURDUE BOILERMAKERS +2.5
