Pitino not looking at retirement
LOUISVILLE, KY (TheSpread) – Louisville fans don’t need to be worried about the future for head basketball coach Rick Pitino.
During a recent interview with the Associated Press, Pitino stated that he still has a lot of enthusiasm for coaching and doesn’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon.
“I think it’s the players the last four years that have enhanced that passion. … They stir my drink because they are so enthusiastic, so willing to learn and have such a great attitude,” Pitino said.
Pitino has a contract signed through the 2021-22 season. He is coming off a NCAA Championship in 2013 and he led the Cardinals to the Sweet Sixteen last year, Louisville’s third straight appearance into the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Louisville has been given 22/1 odds to win the NCAA Tournament next season. Oddsmakers see Kentucky as the favorite with 9/2 odds while Duke has 10/1 odds.
