Broncs ease past Purple Eagles
Rider earned a 73-58 home win Sunday over Niagara to improve to 14-9 overall and 8-5 in the MAAC. The Broncs led 40-29 at halftime en route to the victory. Frederick Scott led Rider with 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting including 3-of-4 from 3-point distance. He also pulled down four rebounds. Tyere Marshall added 16 points, six boards and four assists.
Saints down Stags
Siena posted a 65-49 win Friday night at home over Fairfield to move to 11-10 overall and 7-5 in conference action. The Saints led 34-23 at halftime and continued to pad the advantage after the break. Elijah Burns paced Siena with 21 points on 5-of-5 shooting including 1-of-1 from 3-point distance plus 10-of-11 at the charity stripe. He also brought down six rebounds. Manny Camper contributed 14 points, eight boards, two assists and two steals. Jalen Pickett added 11 points, six dimes and three rebounds.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Rider
The Broncs are 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games. Rider is 1-4 ATS in its last five Friday games.
Siena
The Saints are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The home team is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings.
Prediction:
Rider defeated Siana on its home floor 85-77 back on January 5, so this is a revenge spot for the Saints. But while the Saints have played well lately in winning four of their last five games straight up, none of the opponents have been quite as good as the Broncs. Rider is tied atop the MAAC standings with St. Peter’s and with the latter also playing tonight, it knows a win is important to keep pace. I’m siding with Rider here to at least stay within the five points.
