San Diego State vs. Nevada Pick
Can No. 23 Nevada avoid being upset at home when the Wolf Pack host San Diego State at 8PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Nevada is favored at home, as the Wolf Pack are getting odds of -5.5 points against San Diego State. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 154.5 points. Tonight’s game takes place from Lawlor Events Center in Reno, Nevada and will air live on ESPN2.
Nevada is coming off an 86-78 loss at home to UNLV. The Wolf Pack have now lost two of their last four games. Nevada is 20-5 overall, 9-2 in the Mountain West and 12-10-2 against the spread. The Wolf Pack are putting up 82.9 points per game this season while allowing 71.7 per contest. Nevada took a big blow this week as leading scorer Caleb Martin is out indefinitely with a foot injury. He was averaging 19.8 per game. Jordan Caroline is now the team leader with 16.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
San Diego State is coming off a 79-61 loss at Fresno State for its fifth loss in seven games. The Aztecs are now 13-9 overall, 5-6 in the Mountain West and 12-8 against the spread. SDSU is averaging 77.4 points per game on offense while allowing 69.1 per game. Devin Watson is averaging 13.2 points and 4.1 assists per game to lead San Diego State while Malik Pope is adding 12.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
Bet on San Diego State vs. Nevada
San Diego State has won eight of its last nine meetings with Nevada, but this is the first meeting this season. Losing Martin is a big blow at it showed in the loss to UNLV, but I am not sure San Diego State can capitalize in the same way. The Aztecs have struggled to a 3-6 record on the road, losing to some lesser teams than Nevada without Martin. The Wolf Pack still have plenty of scoring, they just need some role players to step up. I think they will tonight. The public betting is slightly with Nevada tonight as well.
