Lawrence leaving Cincinnati
CINCINNATI, OH (TheSpread) – The Cincinnati Bearcats lost a role player from their 2014-15 roster, as sophomore Jermaine Lawrence is transferring from the school.
On Tuesday, Lawrence issued a statement that his father is ill and we would like to go to a school that is closer to his home in the New York/New Jersey area.
Lawrence didn’t have great stats last season, averaging just 2.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per game, but was expected to have a bigger role next season and eventually grow into an important part of the Bearcats. Cincinnati is coming off a 27-7 season where it went 15-3 in the American Athletic Conference, earning a share of the regular season title. The Bearcats lost in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament to Harvard.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Cincinnati has 100/1 odds to win the NCAA Tournament in 2015. Oddsmakers see Kentucky as the favorite to win it all next season, with 5/1 odds. Duke is the next favorite at 10/1.
