Hatters win First ASun Championship

The Stetson Men’s Basketball team won their first ASUN Championship and earned their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Hatters are going to the dance, after a 94-91 victory over Austin Peay. Jalen Blackmon set an ASUN record for most points in the ASUN Championship game with 43 points and was named the MVP of the ASUN tournament. Blackmon, Stephan Swenson, and Aubin Gateretse were the three Hatters on the All-Tournament Team.

Karaban Cold in Tourney Win

Alex Karaban supplied six points (3-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt), two rebounds and two assists over 29 minutes during Saturday’s 73-57 victory over Marquette. It was his lowest individual scoring total since the start of March, but Karaban was content to play his role as the Huskies cruised to a Big East Tournament title. Through three games in the conference tourney, Karaban averaged 10.7 points and 4.0 rebounds. He’s taken a big leap forward this year, but is still a secondary offensive option to both Donovan Clingan and Tristen Newton.
