Kentucky to clash with Stony Brook
Leave it to John Calipari to lend March an even greater amount of drama.
The Kentucky head coach’s aired his latest grievance against the establishment following Sunday’s NCAA tournament selection show. He had a legitimate beef concerning the Wildcats’ No. 4 seed, too, considering their sterling performance in the SEC title game earlier that afternoon.
Tonight in Des Moines, though, the histrionics and faux outrage give way to a simple task: conquering Stonybrook and continuing a banner back half of the schedule.
Oddsmakers at online sports book BetDSI list UK as a 13-point favorite in the school’s first East Region challenge. Meanwhile, the over/under total sits at 143.5.
This constitutes familiar territory for Calipari’s crew. Kentucky has designs on a third consecutive Final Four run, which looks entirely possible in light of how Big Blue has trashed the competition in recent weeks.

The Seawolves, victors of the American East, are competing in their first tournament of any kind since reaching the second round of the Division III East Regional 25 years ago. Jameel Warney (43 points in last week’s championship win) will definitely render UK’s bigs uncomfortable, if only for a short while.
This feels like an absolute blowout in the making. Provided that the Wildcats don’t shoot themselves in the foot, a round-of-32 date seems inevitable.
