Texas Tech Game Notes
Texas Tech’s best player is fifth-year senior forward Kevin Obanor. The 6’8” Oral Roberts transfer leads the Red Raiders in scoring with 16.6 points per game and is second on the club in rebounding with 6.3 per game. Obanor has been efficient with his shooting this year as he’s sinking 54% of his shot attempts from the field and 38.3% of his three-pointers.
The Red Raiders’ leading assist man is guard De’Vion Harmon. Harmon is averaging 4.2 assists per game and ranks third on the club in scoring with 12.2 points per game. The 6’2” Denton, Texas native also leads the Red Raiders in steals with 2 per game. Texas Tech will likely need significant contributions from Obanor and Harmon to cover this contest on the road.
TCU Game Notes
TCU guard Micah Peavy missed the Horned Frogs’ last game against Central Arkansas with a lower-body injury and it’s unclear whether he’ll be able to suit up for this weekend’s game. Peavy is averaging 24 minutes per game and 9.5 points per contest for the Horned Frogs this season.
TCU’s most important player is likely senior forward Emanuel Miller. Miller is second on the team in scoring with 14 points per game and second on the club in rebounding with 6.2 boards per game. What’s more, Miller is scoring with tremendous efficiency this season, as he’s shooting 57.6% from the field and 50% from three-point land. Emanuel Miller and guard Mike Miles Jr. (18.4 points per game) will likely have to score around 35 combined points for TCU to win and cover this contest.

Texas Tech vs. TCU CBB Prediction:
Put simply, TCU is one of the best teams in the Big 12. Since head coach Jamie Dixon took over, the Horned Frogs have won at least 21 games in 4 of the last 6 seasons. TCU seems primed to win at least that many games this year as they’re already 11-1 and they rank in the top 10 nationally in both average scoring margin and defensive efficiency. I think the Horned Frogs win their 10th game in a row Saturday in this clash against Texas Tech. I’ll lay the points with TCU at home.
