Texas Game Notes
Texas senior guard Sir’Jabari Rice has been coming on in the past few weeks. The 6’4” Houston native is averaging 17.4 points per game in his last 8 contests as he’s taken on an expanded scoring role in the Longhorns’ offense.
The Longhorns’ leading rebounder is senior forward Timmy Allen. Allen is pulling down 5.4 rebounds per game while chipping in 10.8 points per contest as well. If that wasn’t enough, Timmy Allen is also second on the club in assists with 3.5 per game.
Baylor Game Notes
Baylor’s leading scorer is 6’4” freshman guard Keyonte George. George is putting up 16.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game for the Bears this season. His 72 made three-pointers are the most by a Baylor player this year.
Baylor senior guard Adam Flagler might be the team’s most important player. Flagler leads the team in assists with 4.9 per game and he’s second on the club in scoring with 15.6 points per contest. He’s a valuable player because he’s good on defense (1.2 steals per game) and can shoot the three extremely well (40% on 6.3 attempts per game).

Texas vs. Baylor CBB Prediction:
Texas is one of the most underrated teams in the country this season. After losing their head coach due to an off-court incident, the Longhorns have gone 15-5 under interim head coach Rodney Terry. For the season, Texas is ranked ahead of Baylor in both adjusted efficiency margin and the NET rankings. The biggest difference between these two teams is their defense. Texas ranks 40th in the country in defensive efficiency while Baylor ranks 147th. The Longhorns have also already beaten the Bears by a score of 76-71 in Austin on January 30th. I think Texas either wins this game outright or comes close. I’ll take the Longhorns and the points on the road.
