Texas Game Notes
Texas forward Christian Bishop is questionable for Saturday’s game with a back injury. Bishop is a role player that averages 6.6 points and 3.3 rebounds for the Longhorns in 16.7 minutes per game this season.
The Longhorns’ star player is senior guard Marcus Carr. The 6’2” Toronto native is posting 18.1 points and 4.2 assists per game for Texas this year while shooting a sizzling 44.8% from three-point range on 6.2 attempts per game. He’ll probably need to have a good game on the road for Texas to cover this contest.
Oklahoma State Game Notes
Oklahoma State’s leading rebounder Moussa Cisse left the Cowboys’ last game against West Virginia with an ankle injury. It’s unknown if he’ll be available for Saturday’s clash against Texas. Cisse is averaging 8.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per game in 25.3 minutes per contest for Oklahoma State this season.
The Cowboys’ leading scorer is Kansas transfer Bryce Thompson. The junior guard from Tulsa is pouring in 12.6 points per game while shooting a terrific 40.8% from three-point land this season. Oklahoma State will likely require scoring punch from both Bryce Thompson and his fellow guard Avery Anderson III in order to cover this game Saturday.

Texas vs. Oklahoma State CBB Prediction:
Texas just fired their head coach Chris Beard this week because he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. Longhorns assistant coach Rodney Terry will take the reins in Beard’s place. This Texas team is as talented as any in the country and could have made a deep tournament run with Chris Beard at the helm. But his conduct and firing have left things unsettled and uncertain for the Longhorns. Will the players that Beard recruited look to transfer? Will the players perform as well without Chris Beard as the head coach? Will the Longhorn players play more for themselves than the team?
It’s a small sample but Texas gave up 116 points to Kansas State on Tuesday in an embarrassing home loss. I think things might go sideways in Austin and I wouldn’t feel comfortable taking a team with this many question marks against a tough conference opponent that typically plays well at home. I’ll take Oklahoma State and the points.
