According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, LSU is now a 2-point home favorite versus Texas A&M after opening as a 1-point fave. As for the total, it has stayed at 150.5 points, which was the opening number.
The Tigers are on the Bubble.
LSU is on the NCAA bubble after blowing a golden opportunity to upend then-No. 1 Oklahoma two weeks ago and also fell Wednesday night at South Carolina. With dates against Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Florida and Missouri coming up, the Tigers will likely have only two games against Top 25 opponents the rest of the way: today vs. A&M, and March 5 at Kentucky. LSU needs a win desperately against A&M given its soft non-conference schedule and worse yet, non-conference results.
They’re in a revenge spot.
A&M routed LSU 71-57 in College Station on January 20. Jalen Jones scored 20 points and Tyler Davis tied a season-high with 18 to extend the then-No. 10 Aggies’ winning streak to nine games. A&M also did a great job defending Ben Simmons, bringing in help and making the future No. 1 pick play in traffic. The home team has covered in eight of the last 10 games between these two teams so with revenge on its minds, perhaps LSU will turn the tables today.
A&M is struggling badly.
The Aggies are in the midst of a three-game losing streak in which they were torched at Vanderbilt, upset at home by South Carolina, then found themselves trailing by 11 with just 6:34 left to play at Alabama before their comeback fell short. Throw in a loss at Arkansas and the Aggies are in the deepest slumps of the season.
