Toledo vs. Kansas Pick

Can No. 2 Kansas keep rolling along and cover a big spread when it plays host to Toledo tonight at 8PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Kansas is the heavy favorite to win this game, as the Jayhawks are getting odds of -24.5 points against Toledo. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 158.5 points. Tonight’s game takes place from Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas and will air on ESPN3.

Toledo is coming off an 80-77 loss at Cornell this past weekend to fall to 3-2 on the season. The Rockets are 3-1 against the spread, failing to cover in the loss to Cornell. Toledo is averaging 81.5 points per game this season while giving up 78.2 points per contest. Tre’Shaun Fletcher is leading the Rockets with 19.8 points, 9.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game while Jaelan Sanford is adding 18.2 points per game.

Kansas is coming off a 102-59 win over Oakland this past weekend to improve to 5-0 on the season. The Jayhawks are 3-1 against the spread, failing to cover in a 65-61 win over Kentucky a few weeks ago. Kansas is putting up 94.2 points per game this season while allowing 62.2 points per contest. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk is leading Kansas with 18.8 points per game while Lagerald Vick is adding 17.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

Bet on Toledo vs. Kansas

Kansas has won two straight meetings with Toledo, but the Rockets have managed to cover the spread in each of those games. Kansas is 0-4 against the spread in its last four Tuesday games and 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games following a cover. Toledo has managed to cover in six of its last seven road games and in 13 of its last 16 against winning teams. The public betting is heavily with Kansas, but I think the spread is just a touch too big in this one.
