UCLA Bruins Game Notes

Bruins forward Tyler Bilodeau was exemplary in his team’s 76-74 loss to North Carolina last Saturday. The Oregon State transfer recorded 26 points, 3 rebounds, an assist, and a blocked shot. Bilodeau shot 9 of 14 from the floor and 5 of 6 from long range in the defeat.

UCLA guard Sebastian Mack was terrific off the bench in his team’s game last weekend. In 27 minutes, the sophomore from Chicago logged 22 points, a rebound, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 3 made three-pointers. Mack is third on the team in scoring with 10.3 points per game this year.

Gonzaga Bulldogs Game Notes

Bulldogs forward Graham Ike posted a double-double in his team’s 86-65 win over Bucknell last Saturday. The senior from Aurora, CO registered 25 points, 10 rebounds, an assist, a steal, a blocked shot, and a made three-pointer. Ike shot 11 of 15 from the field and 2 of 3 from the foul line in the victory.

Gonzaga guard Nolan Hickman also played well in his team’s game on Saturday. The 6’2” senior from Seattle accumulated 14 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, a steal, and 4 made three-pointers. Hickman is fifth on the team in scoring with 10.5 points per game on the campaign.

UCLA is 21-16-2 ATS in neutral-site games since the start of the 2019 season.

The Bruins are 40-31-1 ATS in non-conference games since the beginning of the 2019 season.

Gonzaga is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

Gonzaga is 5-6 ATS against ranked opponents since the start of last season.

UCLA vs. Gonzaga CBB Prediction:

This is a good spot for UCLA. The Bruins are playing in Inglewood, which is part of the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area. So it’s technically a neutral-site game, but UCLA should receive a bit of a homecourt bump. The fact that UCLA is listed as a 4-point underdog makes the Bruins an intriguing pick.

Since Mick Cronin became the Bruins’ head coach in 2019, UCLA is 31-20-1 ATS as an underdog. What’s more, in that same span, the Bruins are 60-39-5 ATS when playing an opponent on equal rest and 19-13-1 ATS against ranked opponents.

And finally, UCLA is 3-2 ATS in their last 5 games against Gonzaga dating back to December of 2015. I think there’s a lot of value in the Bruins as an underdog, so I’m taking UCLA and the points in Inglewood on Saturday.

UCLA vs. Gonzaga CBB Prediction: UCLA BRUINS +4
