UCLA Game Notes
UCLA freshman guard Amari Bailey missed the Bruins’ Friday night game against Washington State with left foot discomfort, and he’s officially listed as questionable for Sunday night’s clash with Washington. Bailey is averaging 9.5 points per game and 26.3 minutes per game for the Bruins this season.
The Bruins’ star player is 6’7” senior guard Jaime Jaquez Jr. Jaquez leads the team in scoring with 17.2 points per game and he’s second on the club in rebounding with 6.3 per game. Jaime Jaquez has also been shooting it well this season as he’s converting 57% of his shots from the field and 36.7 of his three-point tries. He’s scored at least 12 points in every game he’s played this year and may need to do so again for UCLA to cover the number on Sunday.
Washington Game Notes
Washington center Franck Kepnang injured his knee on December 3rd and will miss the rest of the season for the Huskies. Before the injury, Kepnang had been averaging 9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while playing 22.9 minutes per game for Washington this year.
Washington’s leading scorer is 6’7” senior forward Keion Brooks. The Kentucky transfer is averaging 17.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game for the Huskies this season. Brooks and senior guard Cole Bajema are the only Washington players that average at least 10 points per game and they’ll both likely have to produce for the Huskies to cover against a tough UCLA team.

UCLA vs. Washington CBB Prediction:
UCLA might be one of the best teams in the country, but this is a tough spot for them. UCLA had to play at Washington State on Friday night, and the Bruins narrowly won that game, 67-66. UCLA was favored by 8.5 points in that contest. Less than 48 hours later UCLA has to play on the road again on the other side of the state against a gritty Washington team that has wins over St. Mary’s and Colorado on its resume. I think the line is a bit too high, which is why I’ll be backing the Huskies at home.
