UConn Huskies Game Notes

Huskies star freshman forward Liam McNeeley will miss Saturday’s game due to a high ankle sprain. UConn head coach Dan Hurley said McNeeley could “maybe” return to action by the end of January. McNeeley was having a standout freshman season, averaging 13.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 37.9% from three-point range in 2024. With McNeeley out, UConn will likely turn to sophomores Jayden Ross and Jaylin Stewart

Stewart recorded 14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks in his team’s game against Villanova on Wednesday. The Seattle native is shooting 54.1% from the field in 15.8 minutes per game this season.

Georgetown Hoyas Game Notes

Hoyas guard Micah Peavy had a nice game in his team’s 74-66 loss to Marquette on Tuesday night. The TCU transfer logged 13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal, and a blocked shot in 40 minutes. Peavy shot 5 of 12 from the field and 3 of 4 from the foul line in the loss.

Georgetown guard Malik Mack was exceptional in his team’s game against Marquette on Tuesday. In that contest, the Harvard transfer registered 18 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, a blocked shot, and 3 made three-pointers. Mack is third on the team in scoring with 14.0 points per game on the campaign.

UConn is 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games against Georgetown.

The Huskies are 33-18-1 ATS as a favorite since the start of last season.

Georgetown is 13-14 ATS as an underdog since the start of last season.

Georgetown is 10-14 ATS after a loss since the beginning of last season.

UConn vs. Georgetown CBB Prediction:

The Huskies will be without their star freshman forward Liam McNeeley for this contest. This will be their third full game without his services. Jaylin Stewart and Aidan Mahaney have both picked up some of the scoring slack with McNeeley unavailable.

In only his third start of the season against Villanova on Wednesday, Stewart scored 14 points on 6 of 9 shooting in 32 minutes of game action. It was the fourth time Stewart had scored at least 10 points in a game this season, and he appears ready to take on a bigger scoring role with McNeeley out of the lineup. UConn is 9-1 straight up in their last 10 games against Georgetown, and I like the Huskies to improve that record on Saturday afternoon. I’m laying the points with UConn on the road in this one.

UConn vs. Georgetown CBB Prediction: UCONN HUSKIES -3.5
