SMU plenty motivated to beat UConn
With no NCAA tournament bid on the line, SMU will look to spoil UConn’s postseason hopes tonight when the two teams meet at 9:00PM ET.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Mustangs are 5-point favorites versus the Huskies after the number opened at SMU -5.5. As for the total, it sits at 132.5 points after it opened at that same number.
SMU will have plenty of reason to stick to Connecticut tonight at Moody Coliseum. The UConn marketing department took out an ad in the Dallas Morning News earlier this week, boasting of the program’s national championships. The ad read, “This ain’t our first rodeo.”
The Huskies have failed to cover in four of their last five games versus winning teams and are also just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games overall. The home team is also a perfect 4-0 against the number in the last four meetings between these two teams.
This will be the final home game for the Mustangs, including for senior and leading scoring Nic Moore, who will be honored in his final home contest. It’ll be close, but SMU should win by 6-plus.
