Themus Fulks had 23 points (9-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and three assists over 36 minutes during Monday’s 71-66 victory over South Alabama. Fulks is typically a distributor, as he leads the Ragin’ Cajuns with 5.9 assists per contest. The sophomore point guard found his shooting stroke Monday, however, snapping a streak of three consecutive games in single-digit scoring with zero three-pointers made. While it was a new career-high for Fulks, look for the likes of Jordan Brown (19.4 ppg), Greg Williams (13.1 ppg) and Terence Lewis (11.0 ppg) to continue to serve as the primary scorers when Louisiana looks to pull the first-round upset.
Tennessee Vols Notes
Tyreke Key (ankle) recorded 13 points (4-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound and one assist over 23 minutes during Saturday’s 79-70 loss to Auburn. Fortunately for Key, he was able to play before the 2022-23 Volunteers begin participating in tournament action again Thursday. They will compete against either Mississippi or South Carolina, both each other’s first-round opponents Wednesday.
