USC vs. SMU Pick

Is No. 14 USC in danger of losing tonight when it goes on the road to face SMU at 10PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, SMU is favored at home, as the Mustangs are getting odds of -3.5 points against USC. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 139.5 points. Tonight’s game takes place from Moody Coliseum in Dallas, Texas and will air live on ESPNU.

USC is coming off a 75-59 loss to Texas A&M earlier this week to fall to 4-1 on the season. The Trojans are 3-2 against the spread, covering in their lone road game. USC is putting up 79.8 points per game this season while allowing 66.8 per contest. Bennie Boatwright is leading the team with 16.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game while Chimezie Metu is adding 16.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per contest.

SMU is coming off a 95-64 win over Rio Grande Valley earlier this week to improve to 6-2 on the season. The Mustangs are only 2-2 against the spread. SMU is averaging 74.2 points per game on offense while allowing just 56.5 points per contest. Shake Milton is putting up 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game to lead the team while Jarrey Foster is adding 14.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

Bet on USC vs. SMU

USC has won its last two meetings with SMU, covering the spread in both contests. While the trends are strong with both teams today, I think the Trojans will bounce back from their loss to Texas A&M. USC has covered the spread in five straight road games and in 9 of their last 13 Saturday games. The public betting is split down the middle, but I expect USC to grab the win and cover.

CBB DAILY PREDICTION: USC +3.5
