Utah Game Notes
The Utes will be without their second-leading scorer against Arizona on Thursday. Junior guard Gabe Madsen suffered a lower leg injury and he’ll likely be out until the beginning of March. For the season Madsen is averaging 11.7 points and 2.4 made three-pointers per game.
Madsen’s absence means that Utah will have to rely on the shooting and scoring of 6’7” sophomore guard Lazar Stefanovic. The Serbian national is averaging 10.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.7 made three-pointers per game for the Utes this season. Utah will need guards like Stefanovic, Marco Anthony, and Rollie Worster to step up if they’re going to cover against Arizona Thursday.
Arizona Game Notes
Arizona’s leading scorer and star player is Lithuanian national Azuolas Tubelis. Tubelis has been tremendous this season as he’s pouring in 20.2 points per game, hauling in 9.3 rebounds per game, and shooting 58.2% from the field on 13.8 shot attempts per game.
One of Arizona’s best backcourt players is Texas transfer Courtney Ramey. The 6’3” senior from St. Louis is scoring 10.7 points per game and shooting a splendid 41.7% from three-point range on 6.6 attempts per game. The Wildcats will likely need considerable offense from both Tubelis and Ramey if they’re going to beat the Utes by double digits on Thursday.

Utah vs. Arizona CBB Prediction:
These teams played each other on Thursday, December 1st, 2022 and the Utes won at home 81-66. Arizona was a 6-point favorite in that game. They’re a 10-point favorite in this contest. The only difference is the venue and the fact that Utah guard Gabe Madsen won’t be available for this game. At 10-5, Utah has the third-best conference record in the Pac-12, and they won’t be scared of an Arizona team that they’ve already beaten. There’s also a scheduling quirk that works in the Utes’ favor. Utah is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games following 3 or more consecutive home games. I think Utah is able to keep this game competitive. I’ll take the Utes and the points on the road.
CBB BETTING PREDICTION: UTAH UTES +10
