Vanderbilt vs. Kentucky Pick

Can No. 21 Kentucky avoid a letdown at home when the Wildcats play host to Vanderbilt tonight at 9PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Kentucky is the clear favorite tonight, as the Wildcats are getting odds of -10 points against Vandy. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 144 points. Tonight’s game takes place from Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky and will air live on ESPN.

Vanderbilt is coming off an 81-78 upset of TCU at home this past weekend. The Commodores are 8-13 overall, 2-6 in the SEC and 4-14 against the spread. Vandy averages 71.3 points per game on offense this season while allowing 71.8 per game on defense. Jeff Roberson is leading Vandy with 15.6 points and 7 rebounds per game while Riley LaChance is adding 12.7 points per contest.

Kentucky is coming off an 83-76 win at West Virginia this weekend despite being a 10.5-point dog. The Wildcats are currently 16-5 overall, 5-3 in the SEC and 10-11 against the spread. Kentucky averages 77.3 points per game on offense this season while allowing 69.9 per game on defense. Kevin Knox is averaging 15.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game to lead the Wildcats this year while Hamidou Diallo is adding 12.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest.

Bet on Vanderbilt vs. Kentucky

Kentucky has won three straight meetings with Vanderbilt, but the Commodores have covered in three of the last four meetings. Kentucky only had a 7-point win at Vandy earlier this year. While the Commodores are just 4-14 against the spread this season, they have covered in three straight games, including a trip to Tennessee. I think the Wildcats may overlook Vandy tonight after a big road win this weekend. The public betting is backing Kentucky, but I will take the points and go with Vandy.
