Virginia off to 10-0 start, Cavaliers 18/1 to win 2015 March Madness

LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – After a breakout season in 2013-14, the Virginia Cavaliers are still running strong this season. Does UVA have a shot to win it all this season?

Virginia has started the season at 10-0. Virginia is also 6-2 against the spread this season, holding wins over the likes of VCU, Maryland and George Washington. The Cavaliers are the ACC champions from a year ago, but will have their hands full with the likes of Duke, Louisville, Miami, UNC and Notre Dame.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Virginia is currently getting 18/1 odds to win March Madness this season. The Cavaliers have the seventh-shortest odds in the country right now and have the third-best odds of any team in the ACC, behind Duke at 15/2 and Louisville at 12/1. Kentucky is still the overwhelming favorite at 13/10.

Virginia is a team that wins with defense. The offense ranks just 170th nationally at 68.8 points per game. However, the defense ranks in the top 5 in the nation in three big defensive categories. The Cavaliers are second in defensive scoring (48.1 ppg), fourth in defensive FG percentage (32.9) and first in fewest rebound allowed per game (22.7).
