Virginia vs. Miami – 2/22/16 ACC College Basketball Odds & Trends

Miami looks to bounce back vs. Virginia

No. 11 Miami will be looking to redeem itself tonight when the Hurricanes play host to No. 7 Virginia at 7PM ET on ESPN.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Miami is the slim favorite at home, as the Hurricanes are getting odds of -1 point against Virginia. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 128 points.

Miami (21-5, 10-4 ACC) had an opportunity to take first place in the ACC on Saturday, but the Hurricanes instead were wiped out by North Carolina, 96-71. The loss snapped a five-game win streak for Miami. Despite the loss, Miami is still 13-1 at home this season and the Hurricanes are 9-3-1 against the spread in those home games.

Virginia (21-5, 10-4 ACC) is coming off a 73-53 win over N.C. State, but the Cavaliers lost their last road game, 63-62 at Duke. The Cavaliers have been great at home, but struggle on the road, going 4-5 straight up and 3-6 against the spread. The home team has been strong in this series as well, winning seven of the last nine. This game is essentially a pick em and you’d have to expect Miami to respond to Saturday’s performance. But, even if they do, will it be enough to beat a quality Virginia team?
