The Missouri Valley Conference Tournament is a 10-team standard single-elimination tournament with the top six seeds getting a bye into Friday’s quarterfinals. Two opening-round games take place today and the finals will be held on Sunday. All games will be held from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Wichita State is favored to win this tournament, as it has odds of -150 to prevail. Other short odds to win are Northern Iowa (+150) and Evansville (+900).
Wichita State is the top seed in this tournament as it went 27-3 on the season and 17-1 in conference play. Wichita State is the defending champion of this tournament and a three-time winner of the event.
Northern Iowa is the No. 2 seed this weekend. The Panthers were 27-3 on the season and 16-2 in conference play. Northern Iowa is a three-time winner of the MVC Tournament, last doing so in 2010.
Evansville is the fifth seed in this tournament. It went 19-11 on the season and 9-9 in conference play. Evansville has never won this tournament.
