Will North Carolina cover the 5 vs. Oregon? Final Four Predictions 4/1/17

Oregon vs. North Carolina Prediction

Can North Carolina take care of business when it meets up with Oregon in today’s second Final Four contest at 8:49PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, North Carolina is favored in this game, as the Tar Heels are getting odds of -5 points against the Ducks. The over/under total for the game is listed at 152 points. Today’s game will be taking place from University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona and will air live on CBS.

Oregon escaped the Midwest Region as the winner, being the No. 3 seed. The Ducks are now 33-5 after winning their four Tournament games. They are 2-1-1 against the spread in this NCAA run and 21-15-1 ATS on the season. On the season, Oregon is averaging 78.6 points per game while allowing 65.8 on defense. Over the last two weeks, Oregon is averaging 77.75 on offense while allowing 69.25 on defense. Dillon Brooks has been leading the team through the season with 16.3 points per game while Tyler Dorsey averages 14.5 per game. Dorsey has scored over 20 points in all four Tournament games.

North Carolina was the top seed in the South Region and escaped with a buzzer-beater win over Kentucky in the Elite 8. The Tar Heels are now 31-7 on the season while posting an 18-15-3 mark against the spread. UNC is 2-1-1 against the spread in this two-week run. The Tar Heels have been averaging 84.5 points per game on offense this season while allowing 70.9 on defense. In the NCAA Tournament, UNC is putting up 85.5 per game on offense while giving up just 70.5 per game. Justin Jackson has been leading the team with 18.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while Joel Berry is adding 14.6 points per game. Berry has been dealing with an ankle injury, but should be good to go tonight.

Bet on March Madness

Oregon saved its best performance of the tournament for Kansas and managed to get a cold Jayhawks’ team. The Ducks still had close calls with Michigan and Rhode Island and I don’t think we can expect them to light up North Carolina, as the Tar Heels should be much better offensively than what Kansas was in the Elite 8. The Tar Heels have been susceptible defensively, but I think their offense and depth will be too much for this Oregon team tonight.

MARCH MADNESS PREDICTION: NORTH CAROLINA -5
