Wisconsin vs. Xavier Pick
Will No. 15 Xavier be able to go on the road and pick up a small upset when the Musketeers take on Wisconsin 8:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Wisconsin is favored at home tonight, as the Badgers are getting odds of -3.5 points against Xavier. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 146 points. Tonight’s game takes place from the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin and will air live on FS1.
Xavier is coming off a 101-75 win over Rider to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Musketeers are 2-0 against the spread, also beating Morehead State by 52 points to open the year. Trevon Bluiett has been leading the team so far with 25.5 points and seven rebounds per game. Tyrique Jones is adding 15 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per contest.
Wisconsin is coming off an 89-61 win over Yale this past weekend to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Badgers are 1-0 against the spread, covering in the lone lined game against Yale. Ethan Happ is averaging 16 points and 11 rebounds per game to lead the Badgers thus far while Andy Van Vliet is putting up 15.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest.
These two have split their last four meetings and the Badgers are 3-1 against the spread in those four games. While Xavier is 14-3 against the spread in its last 17 against the Big Ten, playing at Wisconsin is always a challenge. The Badgers were 9-5 against the spread at home last season. I think Wisconsin uses that home-court edge to its advantage tonight. The public betting is behind Xavier tonight, but I think the Badgers get the nod.
