Xavier’s Sumner won’t play vs. Butler
Talented freshman Edmond Sumner will not play on Saturday when No. 6 Xavier hosts No. 9 Butler at 1:00PM ET.

Sumner was removed from the court on a stretcher early in the Musketeer’s loss at Villanova on Thursday and didn’t practice Friday. While he reportedly did not suffer a concussion from the fall, Sumner will be held out of today’s game versus Butler according to ESPN Insider Jeff Goodman.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, Xavier is a 5-point favorite over Butler after opening as a 4.5-point favorite. The total has also dropped from 153.5 down to 152.
Without Sumner for most of the game on Thursday, the Musketeers were blown out 95-64 by Villanova as a 6.5-point road underdog. He’s been arguably Xavier’s most important player, averaging 11.7 points per game and leading the Musketeers in assists at 3.3 per contest.
