NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -T.J. Carter scored 25 points including the go-ahead shot in the final minute of the game to give North Carolina-Wilmington a 68-65 win over Old Dominion on Wednesday.
With his team down by two, Carter hit a pair of free throws with 1:32 left on the clock to tie it up 63-63. A layup by Darius James half a minute later gave the Monarchs the lead. But Carter came back with a 3-pointer with 32 seconds left in the game and followed up with a pair of free throws to clinch the win for the Seahawks (14-8, 7-3 Colonial Athletic Association).
Carter was 9-for-18 from the field and had nine rebounds. Vladimir Kuljanin had 20 points and added 12 rebounds for the Seahawks.
Abdi Lidonde had 16 points and Gerald Lee and Darius James each had nine points and five rebounds for Old Dominion (10-12, 5-5).
UNC Wilmington outshot Old Dominion 46 to 39 percent and outrebounded the Monarchs 42-35.
