LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP) -Jason Thompson scored a career-high 33 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Rider to an 88-76 victory over St. Peter’s on Friday night.
Harris Mansell added 18 points as Rider won its 20th game of the season, the most for the Broncs since they compiled a team-record 21 wins in the 1993-94 season.
Rider (20-9, 12-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) led by as much as 16 points early in the second half before St. Peter’s (6-22, 3-14 MAAC) cut the margin to 75-68 with 4:42 remaining. The Broncs then put the game out of reach with a 12-2 run, including 10 points by Thompson.
Mike Ringgold (13) and Ryan Thompson (12) also scored in double figures for Rider.
Darrell Lampley led St. Peter’s with 20 points. Wesley Jenkins added 19, and Todd Sowell scored 18 points and had a game-high 15 rebounds for the Peacocks.
