LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -David Padgett was 7-for-7 from the field and had 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead Louisville to an 82-49 victory over Carleton University in an exhibition game on Monday night.
Derrick Caracter had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Cardinals, a week after coach Rick Pitino said he doubted Caracter would play in either of the team’s exhibitions due to weight issues.
Caracter, who needed to get down to 270 pounds in order to play, was 7-for-11 from the field and 7-for-9 from the free-throw line. He capped the night with a thunderous breakaway dunk in the final seconds.
Terrence Williams had 12 points, six assists and five rebounds for the Cardinals. All 12 players in uniform played for Louisville, and 10 scored.
Aaron Doornekamp had 11 points for Carleton, which shot 31 percent from the field.
The game was a rematch of an exhibition held in Canada last summer. The Cardinals pulled that one out, 67-66, in the final seconds.
Louisville led 44-29 at halftime, then held the Ravens without a field goal for the first six minutes of the second half.
