WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -Dewayne Pettus scored a career-high 26 points to lead Bethune-Cookman to a 60-50 victory over Winston-Salem on Monday night.
Joey Woods scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half for the Wildcats (9-13), and Dominique Whatley scored 10 points.
Jamal Durham led Winston-Salem (8-12) with 12 points, and Darrell Wonge had 10.
Bethune-Cookman led 27-26 at halftime, but widened their lead in the second half with the help of free throws, hitting 10 of 14 for 71 percent. The Rams went cold at the line, making just 1 of 5 for 20 percent.
