MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 21 points and Derrick Rose added 19 to lead No. 1 Memphis to an 81-73 victory over Gonzaga on Saturday.
The Tigers (19-0) extended the nation’s longest home winning streak to 43 straight by showing off their athleticism and running over Gonzaga (15-5), which had a six-game winning streak.
Antonio Anderson added 12 points for Memphis, and Joey Dorsey had nine points and 13 rebounds. John Calipari joined Larry Finch as the only Memphis coaches with at least 200 wins, improving to 200-63 in his eighth season.
Jeremy Pargo led Gonzaga with 25 points while Josh Heytvelt added 13.
The Bulldogs got within six inside the final minute but no closer than that even though Memphis went 7-of-12 from the line.
Memphis dominated on the boards behind Dorsey (40-28) but hurt Gonzaga most with 23 fast-break points – 21 off turnovers.
No. 2 Kansas 84, Nebraska 49
LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) – Darrell Arthur scored 18 points and Brandon Rush had 17 points and eight rebounds for Kansas.
The Jayhawks (20-0, 5-0 Big 12), who led 44-15 at halftime, kept pace with No. 1 Memphis (19-0) as the nation’s only unbeaten Division I teams.
Aleks Maric, the Huskers’ 6-foot-11 senior who had been averaging almost 17 points, failed to score for the first time since his sophomore year. He was 0-for-6 from the field and 0-for-2 from the line in 21 minutes.
Rush was 5-of-7 from behind the 3-point arc, exactly what he was two weeks earlier in a 79-58 victory at Nebraska.
Steve Harley had 16 points for Nebraska (11-6, 0-4), the only Big 12 team without a conference win.
No. 3 Tennessee 85, Georgia 69
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Chris Lofton hit seven 3-pointers and scored a season-high 27 points for Tennessee.
It was the seventh straight win for the Volunteers (17-2, 4-1 Southeastern Conference) over the Bulldogs (11-6, 2-2), who were playing their first SEC road game and first Top 25 opponent.
Lofton has only averaged 13.8 points this season compared to 20.8 as a junior. He finished the half with 20 points after going 7-for-9 from the field including 6-for-8 on 3-pointers. He nearly matched Georgia’s point total as Tennessee took a 44-23 halftime lead.
Tyler Smith added 17 points and nine rebounds for Tennessee.
Sundiata Gaines led Georgia with 20 points.
No. 6 Washington St. 56, No. 24 Arizona St. 55
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) – Derrick Low scored 18 points, all on 3-pointers, and Washington State rallied from an 11-point deficit.
The Cougars survived the upset bid when Arizona State’s star freshman James Harden missed on a drive to the basket at the buzzer. Harden finished with 25 points, his 10th 20-point game.
Low bounced back nicely after going just 2-of-9 from the field in a loss at Arizona two nights earlier. He finished 6-of-11 Saturday, all from behind the arc.
Taylor Rochestie added 13 points for the Cougars (17-2, 5-2 Pac-10), who launched an 18-0 run late in the first half to take a 38-29 lead. They never trailed again, heading off a furious Arizona State comeback late in the second half.
The Cougars led 56-48 with 2:50 to play but the Sun Devils (14-5, 4-3) went on a 7-0 run capped by Harden’s driving layup with 1:09 left.
Neither team scored again.
Connecticut 68, No. 7 Indiana 63
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – Fill-in starter Craig Austrie had 15 points and the Huskies dominated the middle in snapping the Hoosiers’ 13-game winning streak and their 29-game home winning streak.
UConn (14-5) was without starting guard Jerome Dyson and backup Doug Wiggins, who were suspended Friday for violating team rules. So the Huskies relied on power, outscoring the Hoosiers 34-16 in the paint and grabbing a 44-28 rebounding edge.
Armon Bassett led Indiana (17-2) with 18 points and Eric Gordon added 14.
A.J. Price finished with 14 points for the Huskies, while Hasheem Thabeet had 12.
UConn held the Big Ten’s best shooting team to just 27.6 percent in the half and 37.1 percent for the game.
No. 9 Georgetown 58, West Virginia 57
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) – Jessie Sapp hit a 3-pointer with 6 seconds left and Patrick Ewing Jr. blocked Da’Sean Butler’s layup attempt at the buzzer for Georgetown.
The Hoyas (16-2, 6-1 Big East) overcame a 10-point deficit early in the second half and held the Mountaineers without a field goal over an 8-minute span to win their third straight since a 69-60 loss at No. 13 Pittsburgh on Jan. 14.
Sapp finished with 15 points and Roy Hibbert added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Hoyas.
Darris Nichols had 16 points for West Virginia (15-5, 4-3) which saw its four-game winning streak snapped.
West Virginia struggled from the free throw line for the second straight game, going 12-for-23 after making just 11 of 28 in a two-point win over Marshall on Wednesday night.
Purdue 60, No. 11 Wisconsin 56
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) – E’Twaun Moore scored 16 points and Purdue snapped the Badgers’ 10-game winning streak.
Robbie Hummel added 10 points, seven rebounds, five assists and a game-winning block for Purdue (15-5, 6-1 Big Ten), which has won five straight.
Brian Butch had 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Badgers (16-3, 6-1), while Trevon Hughes added 11 points.
Wisconsin got the ball, trailing 58-56 with 10 seconds to play. Michael Flowers took the ball at the top of the key and drove to his right, but Hummel blocked his layup. Hummel grabbed the rebound and was fouled with 1.2 seconds left. He made both free throws to seal the win as the students in the sellout crowd of 14,123 stormed the court.
Rutgers 77, No. 13 Pittsburgh 64
PITTSBURGH (AP) – Corey Chandler scored 18 points and Mike Coburn added 17 to lead Rutgers to its second consecutive upset of a Top 25 team.
Chandler and Coburn led a game-altering 20-2 run in the second half as Rutgers (10-11, 2-6 Big East) handed Pitt (16-4, 4-3) its biggest upset loss in conference play in Jamie Dixon’s five seasons as coach.
Pitt, which was 11-0 at home this season and had won its last 13 there, had beaten Rutgers eight straight times overall and the Scarlet Knights were 0-7 in Pittsburgh since 1996.
Rutgers, which had lost its last 11 road games against ranked opponents and was 1-7 away from home this season, followed up its 80-68 victory over No. 18 Villanova on Wednesday night.
Freshman Gilbert Brown had 16 points and classmate DeJuan Blair added 14 for Pittsburgh.
No. 15 Butler 73, Ill.-Chicago 57
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Matt Howard scored 20 points and A.J. Graves added 16 for Butler.
It was the 12th straight game of double-figure scoring for Howard, a 6-foot-8 freshman, while Graves had his most points in more than a month.
Graves’ fourth 3-pointer ended a brief second-half comeback by the Flames (10-10, 4-5 Horizon League), then Howard scored the next six points and the Bulldogs (19-2, 8-2) took their biggest lead at 61-44 with under 8 minutes remaining.
Josh Mayo, the nation’s leader in 3-point percentage, finished with 19 points for the Flames.
Richmond 80, No. 16 Dayton 63
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – Dan Geriot and David Gonzalvez combined for 25 points in Richmond’s sizzling first half and the Spiders went to hand Dayton its third straight loss.
The Spiders (10-8, 3-2 Atlantic 10), who won for the sixth time in their last eight games, shot 61.5 percent from the field in the first half. A 13-0 run was part of a 25-5 burst that led to 46-27 halftime lead.
Brian Roberts had 20 points for Dayton (14-4, 2-3), which played without injured interior players Chris Wright and Charles Little.
Richmond defeated a ranked team at home for the first time since Dec. 1, 1990, when it beat Georgia Tech, and got its first victory against a ranked team anywhere since Jan. 24, 2004, when Tony Dobbins’ jumper gave them a 69-68 win at No. 12 Kansas.
Mississippi St. 88, No. 17 Mississippi 68
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) – Charles Rhodes scored 26 points and Jamont Gordon had 13 for Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs (14-5, 5-0 Southeastern Conference) extended their winning streak to nine games overall and five straight in the SEC.
Ole Miss (15-3, 2-3) has gone 2-3 in conference play after starting 13-0. It was the Rebels’ second straight loss and their third straight on the road.
The Rebels have lost 23 of their last 25 in Starkville, where they have not won since Feb. 21, 1998, a string of 10 straight losses.
Dwayne Curtis led Mississippi with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Chris Warren had 15.
M 59, Oklahoma St. 56
M held on to snap a three-game losing streak.
After Kirk put the Aggies (16-4, 2-3 Big 12) up 57-56, the Cowboys squandered their first chance to move ahead when forward Ibrahima Thomas – a 64 percent free throw shooter – came up empty on two foul shots with 20 seconds left.
James Anderson, Oklahoma State’s leading scorer, missed a 3-pointer that could have put the Cowboys (10-9, 1-4) on top.
M, which lost in five overtimes to No. 25 Baylor on Wednesday.
Anderson led Oklahoma State with 15 points.
Notre Dame 90, No. 18 Villanova 80
PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Kyle McAlarney scored 30 points, and Luke Harangody had 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead Notre Dame to its first conference road win of the season.
Rob Kurz added 12 points for the Irish (14-4, 4-2 Big East) who hit nine 3-pointers and shot 51 percent from the field.
Antonio Pena scored 17 points for Villanova (13-5, 3-4), which lost 80-68 at Rutgers on Wednesday.
No. 20 Stanford 82, California 77
BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) – Brook Lopez had 23 points, four rebounds and two blocks, all in the second half after sitting 15 minutes of the first in foul trouble, and Stanford won its third straight.
Robin Lopez added nine points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Cardinal (16-3, 5-2 Pac-10).
Patrick Christopher scored 16 points for the Golden Bears (11-7, 2-5).
Jerome Randle added 12 points, seven rebounds and seven assists and reserve Jamal Boykin had 14 points and eight rebounds for Cal, which outshot Stanford 47 percent to 41 percent but was outrebounded 42-35.
No. 22 Drake 58, Northern Iowa 54
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) – Klayton Korver scored 23 points on 7-of-8 shooting from 3-point range and Drake extended its school-record winning streak to 17 games.
Josh Young added 11 points for the Bulldogs, who are 9-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference for the first time since the 1969-70 season. Drake’s current winning streak is the third-best in the nation, behind No. 1 Memphis (19-0) and No. 2 Kansas (20-0).
The Bulldogs (18-1, 9-0) have won their last four games by a total of 19 points.
Jared Josten had 12 points for the Panthers (12-8, 4-5), who have lost five of seven. Northern Iowa missed its last nine shots from the field and Drake ended the game on a 9-1 run.
Oklahoma 77, No. 25 Baylor 71
WACO, Texas (AP) – Freshman standout Blake Griffin made an unexpected return from a sprained left knee and had 17 points and 15 rebounds as Oklahoma beat Baylor for the 27th straight time since 1977.
M in their first game as a ranked team since 1969, overcame a 16-point second-half deficit against Oklahoma. The Bears went ahead 71-70 with about 2 minutes left when Henry Dugat rebounded a missed 3-pointer and drove the length of the court for a layup.
Griffin answered for the Sooners (14-5, 2-2) with a strong inside basket. Then after a Baylor miss, he drove the baseline to make it 74-71.
After getting hurt early at No. 2 Kansas on Jan. 14, Griffin was supposed to be out up to four weeks. But he missed only one game and was playing 13 days later.
Curtis Jerrells led Baylor with 17 points while Kevin Rogers had 13 points and 16 rebounds.
