ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -Tim Ambrose came off the bench in the second half and scored 17 points, leading Albany to a 66-53 win over St. Francis Saturday.
Brian Connelly added 15 points and had nine rebounds for Albany (5-4). Brian Lillis added 14 with eight rebounds.
Kayode Ayeni led St. Francis (3-8) with 17 points. Ricky Cadell added 14, and Lateef Willis had 10.
In a first half where both teams struggled offensively, St. Francis reversed a 20-18 deficit with six straight points.
Marcus Williams converted a back-door layup to put his team in front and then scored off a steal and the Terriers finished the first half with a 24-22 lead. They pushed it to a 31-24 lead with 15:47 left to play.
Albany responded with 15 unanswered over the next six minutes.
Ambrose, who fueled the run, followed up a missed jumper and hit two free throws. Connelly put Albany ahead with a driving bank shot on the left baseline.
Albany shot 42 percent and committed 19 turnovers. St. Francis shot 38.2 percent also with 19 turnovers.
