MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -Doneal Mack made seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 23 points, leading No. 2 Memphis past Pepperdine 90-53 on Saturday for its school-record 40th straight home win.
Five players scored in double figures for Memphis (13-0), which has not dropped a home game since losing to Texas on Jan. 2, 2006. Chris Douglas-Roberts added 14 points, and Antonio Anderson and Willie Kemp finished with 12 each. Robert Dozier had 11.
Tyrone Shelley had 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Waves (5-10), who have lost six of seven. Malcolm Thomas, Pepperdine’s second-leading scorer at 15 points a game, was limited to 10.
No. 3 Kansas 85, Boston College 60
BOSTON (AP) – Darnell Jackson scored 25 points with nine rebounds and Darrell Arthur added 22 points in front of a surprisingly supportive road crowd to lead Kansas over Boston College.
Kansas won its first 14 games for the sixth time in school history, and the Jayhawks remained one of six unbeaten teams in the nation with one game left before next week’s Big 12 opener against Nebraska. Boston College (10-3) failed in its first game against a ranked opponent this season.
Rakim Sanders scored 21 and Tyrese Rice had 20 for the Eagles, who had the game tied at 22 before giving up 33 of the next 41 points.
No. 4 Washington St. 56, Washington 52
SEATTLE (AP) – Aron Baynes scored 16 points, Kyle Weaver scored 11 of his 13 in the second half, and the Cougars beat the Huskies for the sixth straight time.
It’s the Cougars longest win streak over their rival since winning six straight in 1941-42.
Trailing 48-45 with 6:20 to go, the Cougars (13-0, 1-0 Pac-10) scored 11 of the final 15 points, using an 8-0 spurt to take the lead on Taylor Rochestie’s runner with 3:04 left. From there, it became a free-throw shooting contest.
Tim Morris led Washington with 16 points, but the transfer from Stanford was scoreless over the final 14 minutes. Jon Brockman added 14 points and 17 rebounds, but the Huskies (9-5, 0-1) saw their five-game win streak snapped.
No. 5 UCLA 70, California 58
BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) – Freshman center Kevin Love had 19 points and 14 rebounds for his seventh double-double, and UCLA beat California to complete a sweep of the Bay Area schools on the opening weekend of Pac-10 play.
Russell Westbrook added 11 points and seven rebounds, Darren Collison had 14 points and five assists and Josh Shipp scored 13 for the Bruins (14-1, 2-0), who won their seventh straight. The streak includes a victory at No. 24 Stanford on Thursday night.
Ryan Anderson scored 12 points and Patrick Christopher 11 to lead the Golden Bears (10-3, 1-1).
No. 6 Michigan State 65, Minnesota 59
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) – Raymar Morgan scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lift Michigan State over Minnesota in the Big Ten opener for both teams.
Morgan, the league’s third-leading scorer, was 11-for-17 from the field in his fifth game with at least 20 points. He has three double-doubles.
Freshman Kalin Lucas came off the bench to boost the Spartans (13-1) with 17 points, including 12 in the first half. Goran Suton grabbed nine rebounds and played excellent defense in a foul-filled second half.
Spencer Tollackson led the Golden Gophers (10-3) with 12 points.
No. 7 Georgetown 58, Rutgers 46
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) – Freshman Austin Freeman scored 13 points and Georgetown, which entered the game leading the country in points allowed and field goal percentage defense, improved on both numbers in a victory over Rutgers.
The Hoyas (11-1, 1-0) opened defense of their Big East championship by holding the Scarlet Knights (8-7, 0-2) nine points below their Division I-leading figure and to 31.1 percent shooting (19-for-61) from the field to improve on their 35.2 percent allowed.
It was Georgetown’s sixth straight win over Rutgers and the eighth in their last nine meetings. Jonathan Wallace had 11 points for Georgetown, while DaJuan Summers and Jessie Sapp each had 10.
J.R. Inman scored 11 points for the Scarlet Knights, who have lost four of five.

M coasted past injury-riddled LSU for its seventh straight victory.
M the past two years, including a one-point thriller in the 2006 NCAA tournament.
M that controlled the game from start to finish, jumping out to a 9-0 lead and maintaining a margin of 20 points or more throughout most of the second half.
LSU (7-7), which was has been missing Tasmin Mitchell and Quintin Thornton due to injuries, played its first game without center Chris Johnson, who broke a bone in his hand Wednesday.
The Tigers, who lost their third straight, were also without Dameon Mason, who didn’t make the trip because of academic commitments. LSU was led by Anthony Randolph with 16 points and seven rebounds.
Josh Carter had 13 points for the Aggies.
No. 14 Texas 81, Saint Mary’s 62
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) – D.J. Augustin scored 30 points and Texas, playing at full strength for the first time this season, rolled to an impressive win over Saint Mary’s.
Freshman Gary Johnson, playing in his second game after missing the first 13 while doctors monitored his heart, scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Longhorns (13-2), who closed out their non-conference schedule before starting Big 12 play next weekend.
Omar Samhan scored 13 points to lead the Gaels (12-2), whose five-game winning streak ended.
No. 15 Vanderbilt 97, Massachusetts 88
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Shan Foster scored 32 points, A.J. Ogilvy added 25 and unbeaten Vanderbilt rallied past Massachusetts to extend the best start in school history.
The 15th-ranked Commodores (15-0) trailed by 14 points in the first half and nine in the second before charging back on the strength of their 3-point shooting. Vanderbilt was 13-of-23 from beyond the arc while the Minutemen were 6-of-20.
UMass (11-3) led 50-41 with 16:52 remaining before Vanderbilt rallied. Foster’s 3-pointer made it 66-64, and Keegan Bell followed with another to give the Commodores a 67-65 lead with 9:23 to go. They never trailed again.
No. 16 Butler 73, Valparaiso 65
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Mike Green matched his career high with 24 points and added eight rebounds to help Butler beat Valparaiso.
The Bulldogs (13-1, 2-1) won their fifth straight overall, matched the best start in school history and have won four in a row against their new Horizon League foe.
Valparaiso (11-4, 2-1) has lost three of its last four, all on the road – at Wisconsin, at North Carolina and at Butler. Jarryd Loyd led the Crusaders with 15 points.
Oregon 84, No. 21 Arizona 74
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) – Malik Hairston tied his career high with 29 points and Oregon shot 56 percent from the field to beat Arizona at home for the second year in a row.
The Ducks (10-4, 1-1 Pac-10) led by as many as 19 in the first half and the Wildcats (10-4, 1-1 Pac-10) never got closer than five in the second.
Chase Budinger scored 30 points, two shy of his career best, for the Wildcats, who were without leading scorer and point guard Jerryd Bayless for the third straight game because of a sprained right knee.
No. 24 Stanford 52, No. 22 USC 46
STANFORD, Calif. (AP) – Fred Washington helped shut down heralded Southern California freshman O.J. Mayo, and Stanford overcame a horrid shooting night.
The Cardinal (12-2, 1-1 Pac-10) avoided losing consecutive home games to open the conference season despite shooting a season-low 27 percent and committing 19 turnovers.
The Trojans (9-5, 0-2) were just as bad offensively, committing 23 turnovers and shooting 35 percent in scoring their fewest points this season. Mayo, who averaged 20.6 points in his first 13 games, finished with 14 on 5-for-19 shooting.
Anthony Goods led Stanford with 11 points on 3-for-12 shooting. Washington added nine and Lawrence Hill had seven points and 13 rebounds.
No. 25 Wisconsin 64, Iowa 51
MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Brian Butch scored 22 points and Wisconsin continued its home dominance in the Big Ten with a victory over Iowa.
The Badgers (12-2, 2-0) won their sixth straight game despite a tepid early shooting performance other than Butch, who finished 7-of-12. Not that it mattered at home in the Kohl Center, where coach Bo Ryan’s teams are 100-6 overall and 47-2 against Big Ten opponents.
Iowa (7-8, 0-2) hung around thanks to 13 points by Justin Johnson even though the Hawkeyes struggled with rebounding, turnovers and foul trouble.
