LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -Patrick Patterson had 20 points and eight rebounds and Kentucky upset No. 3 Tennessee 72-66 on Tuesday night.
Ramel Bradley had 16 points and Perry Stevenson added 14 points and seven rebounds for Kentucky (8-9, 2-2 Southeastern Conference) which held the Volunteers (16-2, 3-1) to three field goals over the final 10 minutes to snap their 11-game winning streak.
Chris Lofton led the Volunteers with 22 points, knocking down five 3-pointers to set the SEC record for career 3s with 367, breaking the mark held by former Arkansas guard Pat Bradley.
The Wildcats, who trailed by 10 points early in the second half, went ahead for good at 62-60 on two free throws by Bradley with 1:30 left.
Tennessee’s Tyler Smith missed a 3-pointer and Bradley hit two more free throws. Lofton missed a rushed 3-pointer and Jodie Meeks hit two free throws to put it away.
Kentucky was 24-of-28 from the free throw line and shot 49 percent from the field.
Tennessee shot just 39 percent from the field, including 7-of-26 on 3-pointers.
No. 11 Wisconsin 64, Michigan 61
MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Marcus Landry and Michael Flowers both scored 14 points for the Badgers who remained undefeated in the Big Ten.
Wisconsin (16-2, 6-0) couldn’t shake the Wolverines (5-14, 1-6) despite shooting better than 50 percent from the field, committing just 11 turnovers and going 6-of-9 from the free throw line.
Michigan dominated the glass 36-24 and turned 21 offensive rebounds into 22 points.
The Wolverines had a chance to take the lead with less than a minute left but Manny Harris, who led Michigan with 26 points, lost the ball as he drove the lane. Landry then hit a 3-pointer at the other end.
No. 22 Drake 68, Creighton 60, OT
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – Josh Young hit a tie-breaking 3-pointer in overtime and Drake celebrated its first national ranking in 33 years.
Young, the Valley’s leading scorer, had missed the last three games with a sprained right ankle and was wearing a walking boot as recently as Monday. His 3 from the top of the key broke a 54-54 tie.
Kaleb Korver’s 3-pointer with 50 seconds left pulled the Bluejays within 61-59, but the Bulldogs put the game away at the free throw line to extend their school-record winning streak to 16 games.
Drake (17-1, 8-0) matched its win total of last season and won for the first time in seven games in Omaha. The Bulldogs were last ranked in the final poll of the 1974-75 season.
The Bluejays (14-4, 5-3) lost for the first time in six games.
Klayton Korver scored 14 points and Adam Emmenecker had 12 for the Bulldogs while Young finished with eight.
Dane Watts had 13 points for Creighton while Cavel Witter added 12.
