FARGO, N.D. (AP) -Brett Winkelman scored 20 points and Mike Nelson added 19 as North Dakota State beat Bemidji State 80-56 in an exhibition game on Wednesday.
Winkelman was 7-for-12 for the field for the Bison, who are beginning their first season in the Summit League. NDSU forced 26 turnovers, leading to 28 points.
Freddy Coleman chipped in 12 points.
NDSU shot 47 percent from the field to 40 percent by the Beavers. The Bison outscored BSU 41-26 in the second half.
Seth Haake was the only BSU player in double figures with 16 points.
NDSU plays its final exhibition game Friday against Minnesota State, Moorhead.
