LOS ANGELES (AP) -John Wooden’s condition is improving and he should be released from the hospital in the next couple days, his daughter said Friday.
In a statement, Nan Muehlhausen said the former UCLA basketball coach was healing and that an irregular beat discovered a few days ago was under control.
The 97-year-old Hall of Fame coach fell at his home Feb. 28, breaking his left wrist and collarbone. He was hospitalized the following day. His wrist is in a cast and his arm will have to be in a sling when he leaves the hospital.
Muehlhausen said Wooden received a visit Friday from Hall of Famer Bill Russell and his wife. Several former players also have visited him in the last few days, including Andy Hill, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Warren.
