Before we get to our free pick, let’s take a look at the odds for this Saturday’s game.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made Texas a 7-point favorite over Baylor in Week 9. The over/under total for this game is currently 53.5 points.
Baylor is currently 6-2 on the year but is just 4-4 against the spread. The Bears are 2-1 on the road, however, and have covered in two of those three contests away from home.
The Longhorns are just 4-3 on the year and have failed to cover in five of their first seven games. They’re also 1-2 at home this year and have failed to cover thus far in Austin.
Our Week 9 Pick:
Texas leads the all-time series 73-22-4 and is 43-8-2 at home against the Bears over the past however many decades. However, this is definitely a different Longhorns team than bettors are accustomed to. The 2010 version of Mack Brown’s squad is inconsistent and almost appears to be unmotivated at times. The Bears are 5-2 against the spread in the last seven meetings between these two teams in Texas, while the road team is 9-3 ATS in the last 12 overall meetings. Seeing as how Baylor is already playing well and certainly has a lot to play for, we’ll gladly take the points here. Our pick is the Bears.
