ST. PETERSBURG, FL (The Spread) – The 2011-12 College Football Bowl Season continues Tuesday night with FIU and Marshall meeting in the Beef ‘O’ Brady Bowl at Tropicana Field.

FIU is 8-4 on the year and 6-6 against the spread while Marshall comes into the game at 6-6 overall and 7-5 against the spread. FIU won its last three games of the season to get to 8-4. The Panthers had three of their four losses come by five points or less. FIU is averaging 26.3 points per game on offense while giving up just 19.4 points per game. The defensive scoring total ranks 16th in the country. The team is led by running back Kedrick Rhodes, who has rushed for 1,121 yards and eight touchdowns.
Marshall closed the season with two-straight wins to get bowl eligible. The Thundering Herd scored just 22 points per game and gave up an average of 30.2 points per game. Marshall didn’t have a real standout on offense as they ranked in the bottom half of the country in both passing and rushing.
In terms of Injuries, FIU quarterback Jake Medlock is questionable with a shoulder injury while Marshall defensive lineman James Rouse is questionable with a back injury and receiver Demetrius Evans is questionable with a knee injury.
