The Horned Frogs were 13-0 last season under Gary Patterson while Baylor was 7-6. The Bears were 5-8 against the spread in 2010 while the Frogs were 7-6 against the odds. TCU has won the last three meetings in this series and covered the spread in the last four.
Trends show that Baylor has failed to cover the spread in its last four games against Mountain West Conference opponents while TCU is 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against Big 12 opponents. Baylor has went over the point total in their last five home games.
Oddsmakers have made visiting TCU the favorite to win this game, with a point spread of -4.5. The over/under total has been set at 56 points. (View Matchup)
Opening odds had TCU as a 10-point road favorite against Baylor. The spread has been on a steady decline as the season has gotten closer, now dropping to its lowest point of 4.5 points. The over/under total opened at 55 points and has peaked at 56.5 points before closing at 56.
TCU brings back just 10 starters from last season, which make it hard to believe the Horned Frogs will be able to match their 41.6 points and 477 yards of offense per game. The strength of TCU came in the running game, and leading rusher, Ed Wesley is back to lead the offense. On defense, TCU was dominant, allowing just 12 points and 228 yards per game.
Baylor has 15 starters back this season from an offense that was quite productive, averaging 31.2 points and 475 yards per game in 2010. The Bears were balanced, but lose their top rusher from last season. Quarterback Robert Griffin II is back. He threw for 3,501 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2010. Defensively, Baylor allowed 30.5 points and 435 yards per game, including 170 yards on the ground.
In terms of Injuries, Wesley is listed on the injury report with a shoulder injury, but is expected to play. Starting quarterback, Casey Pachall is also listed as probable with a shoulder injury. For Baylor, running back Lache Seastrunk is doubtful to play because of eligibility issues while cornerback Tuswani Copeland is doubtful with a knee injury.
A little over 11,500 Public Bets have been placed on this game and TCU is getting 64% of the wagers with point spread odds of -4.5 against Baylor on Friday night.
