RG3 wins Heisman Trophy
(The Spread) – Robert Griffin III made history on Saturday night as he became the first Heisman Trophy winner from Baylor, winning the 2011 MVP award.

Griffin edged out Andrew Luck of Stanford for the Heisman, earning 1,687 points with 407 first-place votes while Luck had 1,407 points adn 247 first-place votes.
According to oddsmakers, Griffin III had 1/6 odds to win the Heisman entering the week, meaning a $100 wager on Griffin III to win will pay out an additional $16.66. Griffin III entered the season with 20/1 odds to win the Heisman, so a $100 wager on him to win prior to the season would have a payout of an additional $2,000.
Griffin III, who is a junior quarterback out of Baylor threw for 3,998 yards on 267-of-369 passing this year. He had 36 touchdown passes with only 6 INT while also rushing for 644 yards and 9 TD’s. He failed to not throw a touchdown pass in any game last season while leading Baylor to a 9-3 record this season.
