2012-13 Big Ten Odds
(The Spread) – The entire landscape of the Big Ten Conference has completely changed in the past year and a half, so much so that the odds have been affected greatly heading into the new season.
Due to the bowl bans of both Ohio State and Penn State, oddsmakers have installed the Michigan Wolverines as 7/4 favorites to win the Big Ten Conference this season. The Wisconsin Badgers has the next best odds at 2/1 while the Nebraska Cornhuskers are 7/2. The Michigan State Spartans are 15/2 to win the conference this season while the Illinois Fighting Illini and Iowa Hawkeyes are both 20/1, respectively.
Continuing with the odds, the Northwestern Wildcats are 35/1 to become Big Ten champions this season while the Purdue Boilermakers are 50/1 to win the conference. The Indiana Hoosiers are 65/1 and the Minnesota Golden Gophers are the conference’s current long shots at 100/1.

Michigan is also considered the favorite to win the Big Ten Legends Division at 11/10 while Nebraska has the next best odds to win the division at 2/1. Michigan State is 9/2 to win the Legends Division while Iowa is 10/1 and Northwestern is 15/1. Minnesota is the current long shots at 50/1.
Wisconsin, meanwhile, is favored to win the Leaders Division this year at -500 while Illinois is +550 to win the division. Purdue is +800 to win the Leaders Division while Indiana is +1500. Ohio State and Penn State can’t compete for the division crown due to their respective bans.
Wisconsin’s Montee Ball and Michigan’s Denard Robinson are just two players to watch in the conference. Ball is 5/1 to win the Heisman Trophy while Robinson is 11/2. Nebraska running back Rex Burkhead also has Heisman Trophy odds at 25/1 while Cornhusker quarterback Taylor Martinez is 30/1 to win college football’s biggest honor.
