2012 ACC Odds to Win
(The Spread) – Thanks in large part to quarterback E.J. Manuel, Florida State is currently the favorite to win the ACC in 2012.
Oddsmakers have installed the Seminoles as 1/1 favorites to win their conference this season, while the Virginia Tech Hokies have the next best odds at 3/1. The Clemson Tigers are 5/1 to win the ACC while the Miami Hurricanes are 9/1. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the North Carolina Tar Heels are both 15/1, respectively.
Continuing with the odds, the NC State Wolf Pack are 20/1 to win the ACC, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons are 35/1 and the Boston College Eagles are 50/1. The two long shots to win the conference this year are the Duke Blue Devils and the Maryland Terps, who are both 100/1, respectively.

If they can find ways to improve their running game, the Seminoles could be in the mix to win a national championship assuming Manuel fulfils expectations. The loss of offensive tackle Andrew Datko and linebacker Nigel Bradham hurt, but this year’s Florida State team is chockfull of talent.
As for the Hokies, their defense ranked seventh in the nation in points allowed (17.6) last year and quarterback Logan Thomas could have a monster year as he attracts NFL suitors. After winning the ACC last year, Clemson’s defense was exposed in the Orange Bowl but thanks to talented players like Andre Ellington and Sammy Watkins, the Tigers will compete in the conference again this year.
