The Spartans will have to break in a new starting quarterback and a new starting running back. Defensively, San Jose State allowed 30.3 points and 426 total yards last season. The defense brings back two starters up front and will be led by end Travis Johnson, who had 73 tackles with 9.5 sacks in 2011.
In terms of Injuries, San Jose State defensive tackle Joe Nigos is out for this game with a knee injury while Stanford fullback Geoff Meinken is out with a knee injury as well. Stanford tackle Cole Underwood will miss the season with a knee injury while linebacker Shayne Skov is suspended for Friday’s game.
