Stanford was carried to a win by its defense last week. The Cardinal had just 280 total yards of offense, but the defense held the Spartans to 288 total yards while forcing two turnovers and nabbing three sacks. New Stanford quarterback Josh Nunes threw for just 125 yards on 16 of 26 passing while Stepfan Taylor rushed for 116 yards on 26 carries with one touchdown.
Duke was able to pick up a sizeable win last week thanks to a 30-point second quarter. The Blue Devils amassed 420 yards of offense in the win with quarterback Sean Renfree throwing for 290 yards and two touchdowns on 21 of 30 passing. One concern in the win was the defense, as the Blue Devils allowed 513 yards of offense to FIU, including 348 passing yards.
In terms of Injuries, Stanford fullback Geoff Meinken is out with a knee injury while fullback Ryan Hewitt is questionable with an ankle injury. Duke safety Anthony Young-Wiseman is questionable with a lower body injury while cornerback Jared Boyd is out with a torn ACL.
