Auburn suffered the 26-19 loss to Clemson at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Saturday night. The Tigers struggled to slow down Clemson’s offense, allowing 528 total yards, including 320 rushing yards. On offense, Auburn had some success, but had two turnovers keep them from scoring more. Tre Mason led Auburn with 106 rushing yards on 14 carries while Onterio McCalebb had 82 yards on 12 carries. Quarterback Kiehl Frazier struggled, throwing for 194 yards on just 11-of-27 passing.
Mississippi State had little trouble with Jacksonville State. The Bulldogs out-gained their opponent 395-265 and forced three turnovers on defense. The Bulldogs were balanced on offense, posting 202 rushing yards with 193 passing yards. Quarterback Tyler Russell threw for 185 yards and two scores on 15-of-24 passing while running back LaDarius Perkins had 58 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
In terms of Injuries, Mississippi State comes into the game injury free while Auburn receiver DeAngelo Benton and center Reese Dismukes are still facing a suspension.
