Both teams are 1-0 straight up and 1-0 against the spread. Notre Dame dominated Navy, 50-10, in Ireland to open the season while the Boilermakers beat Eastern Kentucky by a score of 48-6. Notre Dame has won 6 of its last seven against Purdue.

Quarterback Everett Golson threw for 144 yards and a touchdown on 12-of-18 passing in his first start.
Purdue dominated Eastern Kentucky last week. The Boilermakers outgained their opponent 547-190 in total yards and Purdue also forced four turnovers. One area of concern was turnovers, as the Boilermakers had five of their own. The team was led by quarterback Robert Marve, who threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns on 30-of-38 passing.
In terms of Injuries, Notre Dame running back Cierre Wood is still suspended for this game while defensive back Lo Wood is out for the season due to an Achilles injury. Purdue running back Ralph Bolden is question with a knee injury while quarterback Caleb TerBush was suspended for the first game, but is expected to return on Saturday.
