LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – The spreads for the College Football Semifinals have been pretty large since the games were announced. Are they climbing, or getting smaller?

The semifinal games feature No. 2 Oregon taking on No. 3 Florida State in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Thursday at 5PM ET. The second semifinal game is at 8:30PM ET when No. 1 Alabama faces No. 4 Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.

When it comes to the Rose Bowl, according to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Oregon is the clear favorite entering tonight’s game, as the Ducks are getting odds of -7.5 points against Florida State. The over/under total for the game has been set at 71 points. Opening odds had Oregon favored by 8 points and the spread quickly hit a peak of 10 points before falling back down to 8. It is currently at its low with Oregon as a 7.5-point favorite. The over/under total opened at 71 points and slowly worked its way up to 72 points before eventually falling back down to 71.

In the Sugar Bowl, oddsmakers see Alabama as the clear favorite, as the Crimson Tide are getting odds of -9 points against Ohio State tonight. The over/under total for the game has been set at 58.5 points. The opening odds saw Alabama favored by 9.5 points and the spread actually hit a peak of 10.5 points for the Tide before falling down to 9 points, which is the lowest the spread has been. The over/under total opened at 57.5 points and slowly climbed up to its peak of 58.5.
