The Gamecocks had to unfortunately give up home field advantage versus the Tigers due to the devastating floods that hit their home state. South Carolina practiced all week at home before leaving for Baton Rouge on Friday.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Tigers are 19.5-point favorites after opening as a 12.5-point favorite versus the Gamecocks. As for the total, that number opened at 49 before jumping to 50.
South Carolina has struggled offensively, failing to top 300 yards of offense in its last two SEC games. LSU, meanwhile, thumped Auburn 42-21 in Baton Rouge and despite sleepwalking through a win over Eastern Michigan last week, it should be hyped for today’s game after not facing an SEC foe the past two weeks. The Gamecocks simply don’t have enough talent to match up with a dominant Tigers roster that’s led by Heisman candidate Leonard Fournette.
